Special Issue Description

This Special Issue aims to present recent advances in artificial intelligence technologies for complex decision-making, data analysis, and intelligent system development. Researchers, practitioners, and industry experts will be invited to contribute original studies on emerging methods, practical applications, and key challenges in AI-driven decision support and intelligent systems.
Artificial intelligence has become an essential foundation for modern decision-making systems. Machine learning, deep learning, large language models, knowledge graphs, reinforcement learning, multimodal information fusion, and intelligent agents are increasingly being used to support prediction, classification, optimization, recommendation, risk assessment, and resource allocation. These technologies enable intelligent systems to analyze heterogeneous data, identify complex patterns, generate actionable insights, and assist humans in making more accurate and efficient decisions.
The integration of artificial intelligence with decision analysis has created broad opportunities in finance, education, healthcare, cultural heritage, manufacturing, transportation, environmental management, and public services. Examples include financial forecasting and fraud detection, personalized education, intelligent healthcare support, industrial process optimization, smart transportation management, and data-driven policy analysis.
In addition to technical advances, the Special Issue will emphasize the responsible deployment of AI-driven systems. Explainability, fairness, privacy protection, security, reliability, human oversight, and ethical governance are essential for ensuring that intelligent systems can be safely and effectively applied in real-world decision environments.

Scope and Topics
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
• AI-driven decision support systems;
• Machine learning and deep learning for decision analysis;
• Large language models for intelligent decision making;
• Intelligent agents and multi-agent collaborative systems;
• Knowledge graphs and knowledge-enhanced decision making;
• Multimodal information fusion and data analytics;
• Reinforcement learning and intelligent optimization;
• Predictive analytics, risk assessment, and recommendation systems;
• Explainable, trustworthy, and responsible artificial intelligence;
• Human–AI collaborative decision making;
• Intelligent systems for finance and business analytics;
• Intelligent systems for education and learning analytics;
• Intelligent systems for healthcare and mental health;
• Intelligent systems for cultural heritage and digital humanities;
• Intelligent manufacturing and industrial decision support;
• AI-driven systems for transportation, environmental management, and public services;
• Privacy, fairness, security, ethics, and governance of intelligent systems.

Keywords: artificial intelligence; decision making; intelligent systems; decision support; machine learning; deep learning; large language models; intelligent agents; knowledge graphs; multimodal information fusion; explainable AI; human–AI collaboration; responsible AI.

Guest Editor

Prof. Duantengchuan Li

Affiliation: School of Information Management, Wuhan University, Wuhan 430072, China

ORCID: https://orcid.org/0000-0003-2902-7365

Email Address: dtclee1222@whu.edu.cn

Submission Guidelines: https://ojs.luminescience.cn/DMA/about/submissions

We are pleased to offer a full APC waiver for all papers accepted and published in this Special Issue.

For manuscript submissions or any inquiries regarding this Special Issue, please directly contact the responsible Editor, Claire Chen, via claire-chen@luminescience-press.com.

We look forward to receiving your valuable contributions and advancing the frontier of AI-driven decision-making and intelligent systems.

Decision Making and Analysis2026-07-29Acknowledgement of Outstanding Reviewers in 2024 Decision Making and Analysis
